1979 Mercedes-Benz R107 450SL
Paperwork in order.
On offer is a remarkable example of all luxury convertibles – the 450SL R107 2door roadster. Production started out in 1972 when Mercedes manufactured the 350SL carrying the 4.5 liter V8 powerplant. In 1973, the car’s name was revised to the 450SL and that was the designation moving forward. Also, this year the horsepower was adjusted down from 230 to 190 and that was the way the manufacturer kept it going forward. The car offered a 3 speed Automatic transmission and a fully independent suspension as well as 4-wheel disc braking which was standard. In 1978 Mercedes introduced automatic climate control and 14-inch aluminium wheels as standard equipment.
The car in question is simply immaculate, if not concourse, with super low mileage of only 22100km. This car still has the original paint from factory and presents itself in showroom condition. It’s by far one of the cleanest models around and with the interior still smelling brand new with hardly any signs of use, the proof is in the pudding. While driving it, you will be absolutely amazed how tight this car still feels, as if it just rolled off the factory floor. This car has been in a private collection for many years and only on occasion, taken out to enjoy the luxury of the late seventies and time warp in history. Being close to the end of the production line, this makes it very special and a must to own. Add it to your collection to enjoy and reap the rewards of this investment as it increases in value. Not a penny to spend.
