Back in the late eighties and early nineties Mercedes was known for one advantage over all other manufacturers – rock solid build quality! No shortcuts were taken, and it wasn’t uncommon to see Mercedes’s running past 600km’s on the clock…some taxi’s even made the magic milestone of a million kilometers. This vehicle still feels tight, solid and fresh with only 76k miles on the clock which makes sense with only 1 owner since new until a year ago.

Advanced for its time, the W124 took the best parts and ideas from previous higher models in the Merc line-up to produce what was the best E Class to date and widely considered to be the top marque in this category of cars. Concepts that seem small today in comparison like the single windscreen wiper reduce wind noise and increased surface area coverage for cleaning the screen. An E Class with underbody plastics to streamline airflow and reduce the drag coefficient thus improving fuel consumption. This was the era where car manufacturers really started making a string of varieties on one platform. The W124 had many models to choose from and the picky automotive consumer was born.

Driving this E Class is like a magic carpet ride and looks the part round town or out cruising the boulevards or beach fronts with the roof down. This Mercedes is not a sport car but a grand tourer and makes you want to enjoy the drive and not rush to your destination…. perfect for long trips.

The vehicle in question has a long list of factory extra’s which we can supply detail on upon enquiry. Full-service history, complete books and spare keys – a great show that this has been a carefully owned car since new…one owner until recently.
