1961 Chevrolet Impala Custom

Transmission: Automatic
Mileage: N/A
Colour: Blue

Welcome to the longest standing name in the History of Chevrolet has been in the Impala. Always been the top vehicle in the line of Chev. The first Generation came to Market in 1958 in the shape of the Chevrolet Bel Air Impala, and Chevrolet produce the Impala today in 2021.
Our Impala falls in the Third Gen which was built between 1961 and 1964 on the GM B platform.
So, let’s talk about the actual car and less about the history of GM and what shared what chassis.
This Impala has been customed from the inside out but still keeping some of its ordinality. Naturally your eye catches the two-tone paint work in the striking silver and electric blue divided but the lemon-yellow pin stripe. The beautiful lines of the Lass have been given an update with a custom grill and headlights hiding behind it. Then on the other end the more traditional tail fins and 6 taillights
The Paint scheme follows into the interior of the car, with the blue dash and silver instrument cluster, behind a wooden three spoke steering wheel. Once seated in the drivers position you are wrapped in cream leather from the seats to the door cards and the roof lining. Traveling six up is no problem with the large front and back bench seats. The next change that one notices in the floor shift on the 3 Speed gearbox, where the original car would have had a column shift. The next modern touch is a Bluetooth Sound System with Speakers placed into the custom tunnel, backboard and the boot is full of speakers. But not that it takes up all the space on the trunk.
Once

Let’s come to the important facts of this slick cruising 4 door sedan. This Impala is running a modern set of low-profile wheels, matched up to a set of upgraded/dated power assisted front disk brakes. These are necessary as you have a large body been moved forward by a 5.7 litre V8 with a 4-barrel carburettor. Helping fuel this thirsty engine is an electric fuel pump and to keep the cool is an electric fan on the radiator.
Summing this Chevy Impala up, the build of this car from the ground up has been done well, with attention to detail and yes there are still a couple of niggles that need to be sorted out. Saying that she is a 60-year-old girl that still loves to pick up her skirt and cruise the highways and boulevards.
