1963 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud 111

Mileage: 45390km
Transmission: Automatic
Colour: Cream

The Silver Cloud was the core of Rolls range at the time and the absolute definitive of luxury the world over for automobiles in the 50’s and 60’s. This vehicle attracted the “who’s who” from Prince’s to Presidents. Watched on Television around the globe, the Silver Cloud was seen in Royal Weddings to Matriarchs arriving at their Castles.

The construction was a body-on-frame where the overwhelming majority were built with the standard Pressed Steel Company manufactured steel body shell in combination with light-weight aluminium-based alloy for doors, bonnet/hood and boot/trunk lid. At 5.38m long, 1.90m wide and 2tonnes odd, this was a substantial motor vehicle so in the Cloud 111 version it was powered by a 6.2lt V8 gently easing out 220hp in the smoothest of deliveries. The transmission was a four-speed automatic, the General Motors sourced Hydramatic transmission. Brakes were hydraulic and assisted by the Rolls-Royce mechanical servo with 279 mm drums and suspension was independent coils at the front and semi-elliptic springs at the rear which allowed the occupants to waft along effortlessly cocooned in the luxury interior. Only 2044 Cloud 111’s were produced.

This vehicle has power steering as standard as well as aircon. It was always garaged and covered 44k miles with the previous owner, an engineer has only covering 5k miles in the last 25yrs of ownership…the vehicle has been released into the market now because of his old age and subsequent lack of use. Approximately 15yrs ago, the vehicle underwent a thorough and professional spray job, so the paint still looks fantastic today. There is a comprehensive service history that accompanies the vehicle too. The interior is very presentable with usual signs of low wear and thus retains a lovely patina. It drives very well, smooth as ever as it wafts over all road surfaces.
We have covered 550km’s since collection and are delighted to report that its run perfectly throughout with on the button starts.

We look forward to meeting the next caretaker in this lovely car’s life.
