1975 Volkswagen T1 Single Cab Pick-Up

Transmission : Manual
Mileage : 49801km
Colour : Cream

Volkswagens are the Peoples car which all started in 1937 and was founded but the German Labour Front in Wolfsburg Germany. Since then they have produced cars in several countries as well as in South Africa and Brazil and brought to the world cars like the beetle, golf and kombis to mention just some of them.

The Type 1 Kombi was first introduced to the world in 1950 in Europe and the United States and from 1951 to 1975 in Brazil, which is where our Kombi Pick-Up started its life, in the last year of production of this type 1 before the bay windows made their mark.

This brings us to this wide body pickup with the beige and white paint colour scheme. We can only wonder what type of workhorse it may have been in its younger days, It may have been a farm vehicle carrying produce to the markets, or a landscaper’s pickup carrying grass and flowers but honestly, we will never know.

What we can tell you is that driving this kombi is an adventure and it turns heads all day.
It’s a simple vehicle with a lot of potential, the 1600cc twin port engine is spritely and eager to please. The gearbox is surprisingly direct for Her age, and in turn the combination propellers this Splitty Pick-Up to a happy cruising speed where the local police aren’t going to bug you.

For a Kombi that is 46 years old, she handles well and one could say the breaks are effective.
The wide-body loading bay would be well suited to sit on at a race day or car show on the weekends and would be happy to carry other loads in the week as a workhorse.

This Splitty has a lot more of life in her, and we feel you should contact us about this experience, as well as being an investment in the long run.
