1985 Ford Cortina Bakkie V6

Mileage: 11353 km
Transmission: Manual
Exterior Colour: Red & White
Interior Colour: Grey

The iconic South African definitive of a Bakkie that helped South Africans literally build the country back in the eighties and nineties. The Cortina Bakkie is synonymous with hard working men who relied on a trusty steed that could stand up to the daily tasks thrown at it. Its reputation was build on blood, sweat and tears which laid the foundation for many of Ford’s marketing campaigns thereafter. Built Ford Tough!

We have an immaculate unmolested Cortina Bakkie on offer. Its led a sheltered life which now allows it to become part of a petrol heads collection based on its condition. The paint work is fantastic with the red shining brightly after a good polish. The interior appears to be almost untouched. Interestingly, this bakkie was fitted with the popular and desirable 5 speed manual Cressida box making it even more pleasurable to drive mated to the big 3lt V6.

We invite you to come and take a look at this piece of South African history.

1975 VW Jurgens Autovilla and matching 1972 Caravan

Transmission: Manual
Colour: White and Beige
Mileage: 60227km

The iconic Autovilla was conceived and designed right here in South Africa by mating a Volkswagen Kombi and a Jurgens Caravan together, there was minimal changes that had to be made to both vehicles to make it work.
The Volkswagen that this vehicle is based on, is known as Bay Window Bus and came with a 2.0L flat four air-cooled engine and 4 spd gearbox that gave the Autovilla an optimal cruising speed to 80 km/h, and used 12.8l/100kms without a headwind.
In later years, the Microbus and Jurgens built Autovilla’s based on that platform, with engines more powerful.
The Jurgens CI Caravans Company was founded here in South Africa in 1952 by Geert Jurgens and his sons, they are the oldest and largest caravan manufacturer.
And then we managed to put this combo together of the VW Autovilla and the Caravan, it is surely incredibly unique and rare. Now you can take the whole family and in-laws on family road trips in this matching pair.
The key matter with this combo is its originality and that there are items in the caravan that have not been used, saying that it’s not a museum piece but a combo that you could travel across country with – without having to worry about Hotels, Motels or B&B’s. Just find a spot to park and set up! You have it all at your fingertips, from the gas stove to a fridge to keep your food and beers cold. After a long day’s traveling you even have your own bed for a great night’s sleep.
With the caravan to match, you can have your family or friends travel in the Autovilla or following you on your adventure’s – giving them the perfect space for them to rest! In the evenings open a cold one and chat around the fire about the days adventures and what is yet to be seen.
With the Autovilla and Caravan it is about the journey and not how quickly one can get to their destination.
The car is currently located in South Africa with Road & Race Automotive in Johannesburg.
