1999 BMW 7 Series 740i

Transmission : Automatic
Mileage : 139457km
Colour : Silver Blue

The E38 generation 7 series is where the world of Luxo-barges all stepped up their games in terms of tech. BMW produced a world-renowned vehicle that was ahead of its time and a first for many new technologies placed within their flagship range.

Development for the third-generation BMW 7 series began in early 1988. In February 1991, the final production design for the new 7 Series was approved by the board 36 months ahead of scheduled start of production for 17 February 1994. On 27 April 1993, German design patents were filed featuring a pre-production prototype as a design representation. Production started on 23 July 1993 on pilot production models and US specification variants on 13 January 1994, with series production commencing in April 1994 for June 1994 domestic German launch with the 730i and 740i.

Of the many models in this line-up, the larger capacity 4.4lt V8 (of which this is one) has gone onto become the most sought after of all models. The silky-smooth V8 delivers blistering performance and as expected with BMW, a dynamic chassis ensures a scintillating drive when you are late for that all-important meeting. Yes, the 750iL was the top of the range, but many regard that engine as problematic and less drivable than the V8 versions.

The 5-speed ZF 5HP automatic transmission is powered by the powerful V8 engine that gets you from A to Z. The in-car entertainment (radio, audio system, satellite navigation, television and communications systems) just makes this girl an extra bit special with a multi-function steering wheel included controls for the audio, phone, cruise control and air recirculation. The exterior presents in a silver blue which complements the interior grey leather seats and dash, the floors are clean grey carpeted and the interior has pops of wood finishes.

Our 740i has a full comprehensive BMW agent service history which was previously a one-owner car before we bought it. Important to note too, is this vehicle is fitted with the factory fitted armour pack which has bulletproof windows and Kevlar lined doors and floors.

If you are looking for a rising classic with the confidence to show you how many miles she has left in her, then we strongly suggest arranging a viewing and test drive. Book a test drive and come see her for yourself!
