1976 Mini Pick-Up

Transmission: Manual

Mileage: 00748km

Colour: Nardo Grey

Welcome to the latest and greatest Mini Bakkie ever. Yes, we have found a once in a lifetime perfectly restore and updated Mini in South Africa if not in the World. But let us give you a little history on the Mini’s and their Pickups

The Mini Pick-Up Truck was built from 1961-1983 and in that time they built 58 179 models making it a rare car in the Mini line up. The Pickup is technically a Coupe’ Utility and shares the same platform as the Mini Van with a payload of 680kg making it possibly the smallest half ton bakkie ever.

So let tell you what has been done to complete this awesome Pick up.
If there was ever a performance part made for the Mini, this bakkie has it from an Offset Bore to 1360cc with Hypolite Pistons and a completely balanced bottom end with new bearings, and not to forget the DY CAM connecting the block with the head using performance push rods using new lightweight cam followers. The cylinder head has been fully ported and flowed with larger than standard valves. Fuelling the engine is an electric fuel pump feeding a 36DCD Weber Carb on a matching Weber manifold. Lighting this combustion is 286 electronic distributor powering a set of NGK spark plugs.
When the fuel is burnt it needs to flow down the maniflow LCD exhaust branch into a fully new exhaust system from the front to the back.
Managing the power from the engine is you and the road rally performance clutch plate turns the new 13inch wheels and tyres. Just to stop the spray in the rain of this giant killer, it has been fitted with some group 2 wheel arches.
Which brings me to the body. This Mini has been restored from the ground up and respray in Nardo Grey with new flooring and door skins which was a problem with these Mini’s in their older age. To finish the pristine look this Mini as been fitted with new bumpers and modern Xenon lights with a Halo daytime running lights and doubled up at the indicators.
The Cabin has been totally refurbished with black leather seats, new speedo gauge, red seat belts and to finish this sleek look it has been fitted with black carpets with sliding tinted windows.
Once you have got going in the little giant killer you certainly will need to stop this animal which is taken care of by a remote brake booster and disk brake conversion on the front.

Well the list goes on and on of what has been done to this Beauty of a Beast, so we recommend you give us a call or pop in for more information.
